Built in 1888, the Summer Palace was a resort for the Imperial Court. There are palaces, pavilions, terraces and covered walks strung out along the northern shore of Kunming Lake. The Yonghe Lamasery is the center of learning for the Yellow Hat sect of Tibetan Lamas with considerable religious and political sway. Today there are some 70 Mongolian lamas tending the temple.

The Forbidden City was the center of China for nearly 500 years. It today remains as the most complete and best preserved collection of ancient buildings in China. The Temple of Heaven has been called the noblest example of religious architecture in China.
AG-5 Tian An Men Square-Beihai Park-Lunch-Old City (Hutong) Tour 9:00-17:45 Price: USD 45/person
The Tian An Men Square is an enormous square facing the Gate of Heavenly Peace. It is the heart of modern Beijing. Beihai Park to the west of Prospect Hill is one of the most beautiful spots in Beijing. We strongly recommend the Hutong Tour, which is essentially a tour of residential areas. Some of the houses are hundreds of years old. It is the place where you can feel the local culture, tradition and the informality of ordinary life. To better feel that, you will take the tour on a special transportation tool -- the old style tricycle.
